Who doesn't want a life on the ocean wave?
Well... us, for one. It's cold and windy and there are sharks. But you can't deny, there's something magical about sitting on a boat in a calm sea, Mediterranean sun overhead and a cocktail in one hand. The sea is amazing when you can still put into port and get a good coffee.
We'll do that when we're millionaires. Until then, we've got some seaworthy socks instead.
Fun owl facts:
The largest owl is almost as big as a golden eagle and has been known to prey on wild boar and roe deer.
People used to think owls were gods.
The Barn Owl has the single most terrifying call known to man.
They make super-cool sock designs.
A wise man once said:
You've gotta know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away, know when to run.
Turn up to your next poker night in these beauties and everyone will know you're a baller. And not that you'll need to do much walking away with some SockMember luck on your side... but if you do, it'll be a super-comfy ride.
This one came about because I will buy SockMember socks... sorry. Don't know where that came from.
Anyhow, the point was SockMember is the greatest.
I think I need to lie down. I really like these socks.

One day, I saw this thread on Reddit.
'Today I learned that socks are among the most needed items at homeless shelters, yet among the least-often donated.'
Right now, there's almost 1500 comments on that. 1500.
It shows how good socks don't just keep people warm in the cold weather, they stop all sorts of crap and infections in your feet that if you're homeless, can make your life even harder than it already is.
When you're homeless, you're on your feet every day. You're walking everywhere. If we need to get somewhere, we can jump in a car, but they don't have that option. They've just got to take step after step.
And it's not like they can just go to the Laundromat to get everything cleaned. You could be terrified of getting sick because you can't afford medication, but you also can't afford to keep your clothes and socks clean to try and avoid it.
You can't even take your socks and shoes off, because if you do they might get stolen. That means you spend your days walking around in rotten socks, and you've probably got toenail fungus and athlete's foot because of it.
And all that could be fixed, if only you had a clean pair of socks to wear.
But no-one ever thinks to donate their old socks, and even if they did, it wouldn't help. Socks that are worn thin and full of holes – they're not going to be any use. They need to be new.
There's one comment here that really shows how valuable good socks can be:
I heard this recently and started keeping a couple pairs of warm wool socks in my car. The other day I saw a guy at an intersection asking for chage. He came over and I handed him the socks. He looked at me, smiled and said "There's a million dollars right there."
When I read that, it was like a light-bulb going off in my head.
So I took it to the guys who owned the company, and explained what was going on, and how that since we were a sock company, this was a way we could really make a difference.
And I've got to admit, I half-thought they wouldn't like it, because just giving away our stock, that's a big profit hit.
But they just said 'that sounds amazing!'
So that's what we did.
The Founder of the Society Has Made a Commitment.
And said every time you buy someone subscribes to the Dollar Socks Box company, we'll donate another pair to someone who's out on the streets.
This is our Spread The Socks movement. One for you, one for them. A pair of socks for you, a pair of socks for someone who doesn't have a warm home to go to.
That's our commitment, and we do it every. Single. Time.
By doing this, we get to give back to the community, and do it in a sustainable way.
Because clearly, we're a company and we've got to stay in business. But some things, everyone here agrees, are a lot more important than money.
We're in a unique position to do a lot of good in the world. So the way we see it, we're obliged to do it. We don't think this is just a good idea. We think this is a mission.
That's why, when you sign up to become a Dollar Socks Box Subscriber, you're going to be helping the homeless. You're helping to make a difference.
You're helping people literally get back on their feet.
And we're not just saying this.
You can hold us accountable.
When you get an account with us, you'll get your own member's area.
And in that, you'll get to see exactly which homeless shelter just got a brand new free pair of socks, thanks to your membership.
We're doing this because we believe that making the world a better place isn't just about huge events.
It's about as many people as possible doing whatever they can.
That means me, that means you. If we all pull together, we can make a difference. We can make dozens, hundreds, thousands, millions of peoples lives better.
Join us now, and we can change the world. One - or maybe two - small steps at a time.
Welcome to the Society!
